After beating Brentford at the weekend and with the games we have coming up, tonight is a massive night in our season. There are no two ways about it. When this fixture was originally penned (28th Dec) Wolves weren’t in the form they are now. But such is life and we go into the match tonight knowing that should we lose they’ll go above us and should we win we’ll be up to 5th. Putting some distance between us and the rest is critical now given the opportunity. Tonight probably isn’t season defining but its close to it.

The result at Wolves a couple of weeks ago hasn’t garnered the respect it should. On their current form it’s a massive result with 10 men away from home. We know we can beat them but we also should know how tough they can be to breakdown. If you look at their run, every game they’ve won they’ve scored first in. They can defend and they like to go on the break with a team searching for an equaliser. The first goal is paramount.

It’s all fairly quiet on the team news front, although we haven’t heard much you have to think Tomi is in contention tonight. In fairness Cedric hasn’t been terrible over the last two matches but we’ll all be far more comfortable with Tomiyasu back in at right back. Martinelli has completed his ban and is also back in the frame. However, I’ve heard rumours this morning that ESR didn’t train yesterday and the footage on the Arsenal site seems to confirm that. If he is out it’ll be a massive blow for us tonight. His contribution this season has been unparalleled.

There’s not much more to say on tonight. Massive night, massive game and I expect a massive atmosphere. As always, I’ll see you there.

COYG!
